Transhumance Festival
Celebrate the changing of the seasons, local agriculture, grazing, and our food systems that nourish the land. Transhumance brings the outer landscapes into the city center by welcoming grazing animals to Steamer Landing Park. The herd will begin at the Petaluma Fairgrounds and continue down D Street to the Park. Come watch the herd go through town, then join festivities at Steamer Landing Park: live music, local food, weaving and shearing demonstrations, kids activities, and friendly sheep to meet.

Cider Circus
The folks who brought you Big West Wine Fest, Sonoma County’s most holistically high vibrational natural wine festival, are partnering with Friends of the Petaluma River to bring the show downtown with a new festival. Cider Circus! features natural cider, beer, and co-ferments from over two dozen Northern California producers. Guests are invited to train, bike, and paddle their way down to Steamer Landing Park on the Petaluma River for an artfully curated festival in a charming outdoor setting.
This event takes place one day only on April 26, 2025.
Presented in partnership with Friends of the Petaluma River, Cider Circus! is all about coming together to celebrate Sonoma County’s vibrant & playful culture. Expect a feast for the senses and circus-inspired flair in an atmosphere that embraces the spirit of community, experimentation, and environmental stewardship.

Lower Adobe Creek Vision - Community Meeting
Friends is partnering with the San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI) to help plan for the future of Lower Adobe Creek. This important marsh habitat offers community recreation, rich biodiversity, and critical hydrological function to improve water quality and protect from flooding. Now under threat from sea level rise, we’re asking for the community’s help.
Join Friends and partners SFEI, City of Petaluma, and Sonoma Water with guests Casa Grande Anglers and Petaluma Wetlands Alliance to explore the Lower Adobe Creek Wetlands and give your input on this area’s future. This is the 2nd community meeting where we will hear from SFEI on their recommendations for protecting Shollenberger Park and surrounding wetlands in the midst of rising seas.

Rivertown Revival
Join Friends for Petaluma's most beloved party, Rivertown Revival! We are back with another evening event to celebrate the greatest slough on earth under the stars. We’ll feature local musicians, artists, food and drink, artisans, and fun for the whole family. Last year's After Dark focus brought the event into cool breezes of afternoon and evening on the River. It was a truly magical experience that we are building upon for this year’s event and we want you to join us for this unique, extravagant, light-filled, hootenanny that encourages all festival-goers to come as they are and enjoy the love of the Petaluma River.
